Obsessed With Isabella
This blog is dedicated to my daughter, Isabella. She is the smartest, strongest, most beautiful little girl you could ever meet. This is why she needs a blog all about her. Although she is the center of my life I will also share my opinions and ideas on other subjects, but mostly this will be about my little chunk-chunk.

Be back tomorrow...
Isabella and I are going to Mayville to visit my mom and sister for Easter. We'll be back tomorrow before Desperate Housewives is on. :)
We gave Isabella her first biscuit to chew on, and tried some other new things. We took lots of pictures, but I'm just going to wait until tomorrow to post them since I'll probably take some pics at my moms house too.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Health Update: Feelin' Good
Let's just say yesterday sucked in the Hunter/Morehart household. I think Doug was feeling much better than he had over the weekend. Not 100%, but he wasn't complaining too much, so that's a good sign (you know I love you Dougie). I felt like crap though. I was having the whole runny nose, congested nose and chest, headache, cough thing. It sucked so bad. I kept feeling like I had a fever, but I didn't. I finally broke down and took some of Doug's couch medicine I had bought him, but it was a liquid kind and I about puked from it. I cannot drink liquid medicine no matter what damn flavor it is. Doug bought me some medicine last night after he was done working and I took it this morning and feel much, much better.
I think the one who probably felt the worst yesterday was Isabella. She had a temp. of 100.1, but I'm not sure if that's bad or not. The doctor said she can have a temp. of up to 102.2 before they start getting worried, and I don't know what a babies normal temperature is when they aren't sick. She felt hotter than usual so I was assumming she had a little fever. We gave her baby tylenol all day long to try and help get rid of it. I felt so bad for her yesterday. You could just look at her eyes and tell she wasn't feeling good. It's funny how when she's not sick her eyes look all happy and stuff, but yesterday they just looked sad all day long. She would basically just lay on the floor looking at stuff, and wouldn't talk, or smile no matter what I did. I'd give her a toy and she'd basically just hold it for a few seconds looking at it, and then lay it on the floor. She wasn't rolling all over the place like she usually does, and she liked when I was holding her all the time. That's definitely a sign she was sick because she's the kind of baby that likes to lay on the floor and not be held too much. She likes to be walked around, but likes her freedom to do her own thing even more. I didn't feed her any baby food all day, just formula. I figured this way she'd drink more of her formula so she'd have less of a chance of getting dehydrated. She was exhausted all day too. She'd be awake for about 45 minutes to an hour and then would take a 2-3 hour nap. She'd wake up in her crib and just lay there. The only reason I knew she was up is because I would check on her constantly, and when I would walk in while she was awake she wouldn't even get excited to see me or anything. Usually when she wakes up we always show her the "baby in the mirror" before we leave the bedroom and she loves that, but yesterday she didn't give a crap.
I'm thinking she had a fever from 1 of 3 things. First, Doug was sick all weekend so maybe she got it from him. He tried to stay away from her as much as possible, but since we obviously all live in the same house that probably doesn't always work. Second, she got her flu shot the day before and I know when I got mine I had a temp. of 103 that night. Third, I'm about 99% sure she's getting a tooth. I swear I could feel a little bit of her tooth poking out of her gums last night, but she won't let me look at it. Everytime I try she sticks her tongue out so I can't see anything, so I'm not sure exactly if I'm actually feeling a tooth, or if it's just my imagination.
No matter what reason she was feeling crappy yesterday, she is doing much better today. We haven't given her any baby tylenol and she doesn't have a fever anymore. She ate really well this morning for Doug. She's been rolling around on the floor, and giving half-hearted smiles, and doing a little bit of talking. She's also been sitting up and playing a little. I can tell she's not 100% because she's not as active and as diva like as she usually is, but she's getting there. She was also awake for about 2 1/2 hours before she went down for a nap this morning, so that's definitely a great sign.
Today Doug and I are going to go buy Isabella teething biscuits, cheerios, and a sippy cup. You cannot believe how excited I am. I am soooooooo excited!!! I can't wait to see her try the new foods that she actually gets to feed to herself and chew on a little bit. I'm excited to see her use a cup all by herself and how she'll react to liquid coming out of it. Trust me, I will take tons and tons of pictures of her trying the new things. I'll post so many pics on here you'll feel like you were there.

Shots, a runny nose, and a first tooth....
We had Isabella's 6 month doctor appointment today. It was perfect timing considering what happened last night. Isabella finally went back to sleep after I wrote my last post, but woke up again at about 5 in the morning screaming all over again. We did the whole tooth numbing thing and feeding her again. She went back to sleep and woke up about 8 in a really good mood. She's been acting like her normal diva self today, so that's good. She has a runny nose though, so the doctor said she is probably getting a tooth like we thought, or is getting or already has a cold. She doesn't have a fever and seems fine otherwise so hopefully it wont get worse than a runny nose. I have to say that cleaning her little nose is really gross. When she gets really clogged up we use the nose sucker thing, but thats so nasty and she absolutely hates it. We also have these little drops to help if she gets a stuffy nose and she doesn't really care for those either. I feel bad because I'm constantly wiping her nose and of course she loves that too. haha.
We found out she ways 17 lbs. and .4 oz.. She's also 26" long. The doctor said that she wont gain weight as quickly as she did the first few months, which made me feel better because I had gotten used to her gaining like 2 pounds a month and was worried she wasn't getting enough to eat since she only gained 2 pounds in two months. We can also let her start using teething biscuits and eating a few cheerios. I'm so excited about that. I know she will love to try putting new things in her mouth that she can actually eat. We also get to let her try drinking from a sippy cup. That will be fun to watch. I think she'll be quick on learning how to drink from one because she seems to understand how to drink out of a pop bottle and her own bottle obviously. We get to start feeding her stage two baby food also. Which is exciting because now she can try new foods and combinations of foods.
The doctor said her head looks like its evening out really well. I am so damn happy about that. I couldn't really tell that it was uneven last time she had a doctors appointment so I can't tell if it looks rounder in the back. Now we don't have to make her wear a helmet to shape it. It wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world to have her wear one, but you never want your child to need things to correct problems. Plus, she would have had really bad helmet hair. :)
She got 4 shots today. God, I hate watching her go through that. One of her shots was a flu shot. I guess if she got one today then she would only need to get one shot this fall instead of two flu shots. My poor baby just screamed and screamed and the worst part is when she cries real tears. I make Doug hold her while she gets the shots so she thinks he's the bad guy and then I pick her up and cuddle her afterwards. Actually, I make Doug hold her just because I'm too scared to do it myself.
She doesn't have another appointment until June, but she at least doesn't have to get anymore shots until she's 1 year old. I'm so glad she doesn't have to be shot up for another 6 months.
