Obsessed With Isabella

This blog is dedicated to my daughter, Isabella. She is the smartest, strongest, most beautiful little girl you could ever meet. This is why she needs a blog all about her. Although she is the center of my life I will also share my opinions and ideas on other subjects, but mostly this will be about my little chunk-chunk.

New pics...

I just posted some new pics taken over the weekend. There's more on April's blog that are really, really cute. (www.aprilsthoughts.blogspot.com)

This is what Isabella typically does when we get her out of her crib. She usually has 4or 5 stuffed animals and dolls in her crib, and insists on grabbing all of them before we take her out. Either that or she'll throw them all onto the floor before we get her out. Posted by Picasa

Isabella in her swimsuit. It's a little big for her, but super cute, and it should last her the entire summer. Posted by Picasa

Isabella would NOT go in her pool. We tried it again yesterday though and she actually stood in it for awhile when I was in it. I think eventually she'll get used to it and remember that last summer she loved to be in the pool. Besides, she loves taking a bath, so maybe she'll realize it's just like a bath, but without the annoying hair washing. :) Posted by Picasa

Isabella running away from the sprinkler. Doug sat by the garage thinking he could get Isabella to run through the water that way, but it didn't work. Posted by Picasa

Yesterday was the very first time, that I can remember, that Isabella has drank out of a straw. We bought her a new cup that she wanted, and figured we'd try it out. She actually figured it out right away, so I'm thinking she may have had practice somewhere else. Either way she can officially drink out of a straw. Although in this picture she's tipping the cup up thinking that's how she's supposed to drink out of it, but when I held it for her she drank like she was supposed to.  Posted by Picasa

Isabella learned yesterday that water and dirt makes mud. I really never thought I'd be the mom that let her kid play in the mud, but I actually was digging in the mud right along with her yesterday.  Posted by Picasa

I like how her tummy is sticking out... Posted by Picasa

Baby go bye-bye...

In a few hours Doug and I will be childless for the weekend. Woo hoo! Ok, so as always, we will miss her tons and I will call my mom several times to check in on her, but you know you feel the same way when you get a break from being a parent.

Anyways. Yesterday, Isabella had a terrible runny nose. I mean constant drippage and 100's of kleenex used. Her nose and skin right under it is getting really red from all the messing around with it. I feel terrible for her. She can hardly suck her thumb, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, and has to eat with her mouth open to breathe. She couldn't even take a nap yesterday because she couldn't breathe when she layed down. Shortly before she went down for the night Doug took her temp. and she had a slight fever. We gave her some tylenol, applied the baby vicks, hooked up the humidifier, and she quickly fell asleep. She doesn't have a fever today, but her nose is still runny. Definitely not as bad as yesterday, but still annoying. I was worried that she was coming down with something bad, but I think she's either teething or just has a cold, or possibly allergies I guess. Who knows. Either way I think she'll be fine going to my mom's. She's taking a nap right now, so that must be a good sign.

Tonight we are helping Kevin and April move into their new house. That they OWN. Seriously, who owns a house? They do! Ok, so I'm excited for them.

Saturday Doug and I are planning to do some window shopping. Hopefully we'll also get to stop by the new bakery downtown. They serve soup and sandwiches as well, so it sounds like a good place for lunch or something. I just hope it doesn't smell like a bakery because I tend to get a little nautious. Not a fan of overwhelming baked goods smell. Ew.

What else? Nothing that I can think of I guess. I should go shower and pack Isabella's stuff for this weekend. Later!

I'd date him...

I'm a liar.

Too funny...

Go here.

Can you tell she liked the fruit pizza? She didn't eat any kiwis though. I don't think she even tried them, so I'm guessing it's because they are green. She tends to stay away from anything green probably because most vegetables are green. Posted by Picasa

5 things...

I got this from Rose's blog (http://babyastrid.blogspot.com/), and I can't help myself from doing these things.

Here's my list of 5 things:

5 Things in Your Fridge: Fruit pizza (yum! and it's the first time I ever made it), macaroni salad (I just made it this morning, and hopefully it'll taste good), spicy black bean veggie burgers (very, very yummy), string cheese (one of isabella's favorite snacks), whole milk (only 4 more months and isabella can switch to skim)

5 Things in Your Purse (other than a wallet): picture of isabella, lotion, extra car keys (i've locked myself out WAY too many times), Qdoba's card (just a few more purchases until my free chicken queso burrito), various hair clips and ponytail holders from isabella

5 Things in Your Closet: suitcases, clothes, shoes, my dresser, purses

5 Things in Your Car: carseat, CD's, an old Chloves tin (I used to smoke them years ago, and I love the smell, so I kept the tin), winter survival kit, map/atlas

Isabella eating some brownie batter that auntie Kayla made. Gotta love grandma's house. ;) Posted by Picasa

She obviously didn't have enough batter on her spatula so auntie Kayla gave her the bowl. Posted by Picasa

A good look at the most kissable face ever. Posted by Picasa

Not the best pic, but you can tell Isabella is enjoying her ride in the stroller. It's actually a stroller for dolls but auntie Kayla threw my baby in there and away they went.  Posted by Picasa
