Obsessed With Isabella

This blog is dedicated to my daughter, Isabella. She is the smartest, strongest, most beautiful little girl you could ever meet. This is why she needs a blog all about her. Although she is the center of my life I will also share my opinions and ideas on other subjects, but mostly this will be about my little chunk-chunk.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

We did absolutely nothing for Halloween. We were going to dress Isabella up but finally decided not to because it was too much work. We did get to hand out candy to some kids though. Although Doug hogged the door and candy so I didn't get to hand out any candy. Ass.

Nothing else is really going on around here I guess.

I do have to say that I have a new annoyance in life. Anonymous bloggers. You know, those people who leave anonymous comments on peoples blogs. It's not a big deal if they are just dropping by to say hi or something, but when they are an ass to someone that's when it bugs me. I mean it's not like I can walk down the street and kick someone's ass this way. I don't know who the hell they are and it bugs me that they are such chickens that they hide behind anonymous comments. What also bugs me is that they are so lame and pathetic that they have to be asses to someone they don't even know, aren't friends with, don't care about, just so they feel better about their pathetic lives. Ok, there's my bitch-fest for the night.

In summary, Doug is an ass because he hogs the trick-or-treaters, and anonymous comments should never be allowed unless they are followed by a home address so I can kick their ass promptly.

Night all my snicker pickers!!!

Here's Isabella in the pumpkin patch. I was a dumbass and forgot to charge the camera so I was only able to get two pictures of her. Anyways, the way Isabella is standing in this picture is how she stood the entire time. I don't know if the pumpkins made her nervous or something, but she just stayed like that, wouldn't move, and kind of just stared into space. It wasn't until we moved her to a different spot that she seemed more comfortable, but she definitely didn't seem to enjoy being next to those pumpkins in this picture. Posted by Picasa

Thanks to her father Isabella walked around the house with her pants pulled up to her chest for most of the afternoon. I'm always amazed that it doesn't bother her at all.... Posted by Picasa

New video...and you will like it...i demand it...

My new video is by The White Stripes. I just have to say that I hate, absolutely despise their first album. I can't listen to those songs without puking and banging my head against the wall. But for some reason I love their new album. Every song I've heard I'm impressed with. And I love their videos too. Especially the one I have on my blog now. Love it!

Oh yeah, we are going to get a pumpkin for Isabella today. Woo hoo! We aren't carving it, but I just want to take pictures of her by pumpkins so I figured we should buy one. Later anchovie sniffers!

Yes, that is Isabella's butt. I caught Isabella walking around with a used diaper, not poop used just a little wet, and obviously took it away from her. I thought maybe it was the diaper Doug had taken off her before her bath and he just forgot to throw it away. Then Doug happened to catch a glimpse of her bare butt. That's when we realized the one she was carrying around was the one I had just put on her butt. We still don't know if she took it off herself, or if I just didn't put it on very well. Either way I'm watching her just in case... Posted by Picasa

Don't get your hopes up, it wasn't a heartattack...

The Hunter family (yes, that includes me dumbass) had an exciting early morning today. Let's see, where to start?

At about 2 this morning I was finally trying to go to sleep. As I was laying there I kept having pain in my chest and it was hard to breathe. Every single time I was just about to fall asleep, I felt like my heart stopped, and so I would be wide awake again. Finally, I decided to go lay on the couch. That didn't work. So I decided to sit on the couch. The pain just got worse. I walked around and that actually seemed to help the pain, and I felt like I could breathe a little better, but I was lightheaded so I had to keep sitting down. Finally I called Doug at work. He thought I was having a heartattack too so he left work, (I know he's naughty, but he was trying to save me), bought some Bayer, and brought it to me. I took the Bayer and nothing happened. I called Doug again, and he decided to call someone to cover his shift so he could take me to the ER. At about 5 we get to the ER. As soon as I got back to the room they hooked me up to an EKG. The EKG looked normal. The doctor listened to my breathing, and took x-rays. Wanna know what the hell is wrong with me? I have Pleuritis. Yup, good old Pleuricy. Isn't that fun.

Ok, so if you don't know what Pleuritis is (I sure as hell didn't), it's an inflammation of the lungs. Basically it makes you think you're having a heartattack because it causes shooting pains in the chest, usually on one side, and makes it hard to breathe. I got a shot in the hip, a prescription for some anti-inflammatory medicine and was sent home. Do you know how relieved I am? VERY. I was so worried that if I had heart problems I wouldn't be able to eat red meat anymore. Honest. Ok, so that wasn't my #1 concern, but it was in my top 3.

I feel much better knowing that I'm not going to have a heartattack and die anytime soon. The only thing that kind of bothers me is that Pleuritis is usually caused by an underlying condition. Like lung cancer, pneumonia, or heart disease. I'm not really worried about something else being wrong with me because I assumme that the doctor knows all the stuff and probably checked for it. I hope so anyways. :) So now I just have to call my regular doctor and let him know what happened, and ask if I should still see the cardiologist on Monday. Part of me wants to go still just to be extra careful, but I don't feel like there's a real need to go anymore.

Oh yeah, and the doctor said that this might also be why I have swollen lymph nodes in my neck. So that's a good sign I don't have cancer either. Although I don't think that really explains the two swollen lymph nodes that I've had for a couple years, but I'll take what I can get. I still have a doctors appointment on Nov. 14th that I'm going to, so I can just ask them what they think about the lymph nodes if they haven't gone away by then.

I can't explain how happy and relieved I am. I'm not a big worrier usually. I don't like to get myself all worked up before I know what's really going on, but yesterday, for some reason, I felt this need to torture myself by looking at information on end of life care and crap. My suggestion to anyone who thinks they are dieing, but you don't know for sure...never, never look at information about end of life care. Ever.

So now Isabella and I are both on some meds which makes us both very excited. Now we just need to get Doug into the doctor's so he can get a prescription for something, and he can be just like his family.

Alright, hopefully that will be the last time I ever talk about any of this, and this blog can go back to doing what it does best....saturating the world with Isabella!!!

Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning...

So it's almost midnight and I'm in a major cleaning mood. Probably stress. I mean I like to clean anyways, but there's just those times when you just feel the need to clean, and clean everything that even looks at you. So now I have to figure out what I can clean that won't make too much noise, so I don't wake up chunk-chunk.

Isabella had her doctor's appointment to check her ears today. She still has fluid in them and the doctor said that it's turning into puss. This means she has an ear infection. What the heck?! She doesn't act like her ears are infected. My mom said that whenever my sister and I had infections we would act pissed and have fevers. Maybe it just started or something so it isn't really bothering her yet. So now we are just supposed to give her some medicine for 10 days and hopefully it will go away. Then in 3 weeks we are supposed to go back to the doctors to check and see if the infection and fluid has cleared up. Otherwise they will probably have to send her to a specialist. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have to cut her ears open.

My doctor's appointment with the cardiologist is October 31st. Boo! (hehe) Hopefully I won't die before then. Originally it wasn't scheduled until November 21st with a private practice guy. I was not willing to wait that long, especially since Doug brought up the fact that I could have 5 heartattacks by then. So I caved in and now I am going to Altru. All I have to say is that if I don't die from a heartattack then I'm pretty sure the unorganization and lack of communication at Altru will kill me. I can't stand that hospital.

Alright, that's it. Later potato peelers!

Try this...

I got this from another blog and thought it was pretty funny...

1. Go to www.google.com
2. Type in the word "failure"

Luckily it's a soft enough fruit that she was able to bit pieces off really easily. She was in love with the piece of fruit. Posted by Picasa

Hello Mr. Heart doctor!

Alright, once again I'm talking about my ailing body, but I'm not complaining so suck it up and read my post people.

I called the doctors office today to reschedule my appointment for the cancer checking, so now I have an appointment for that November 14th. I also decided to just ask over the phone about my chest pains. The receptionist told me she'd have my doctor's nurse call me back. The nurse called me back, asked more about what happened then talked to my doctor about it. A little bit ago she called me again saying that they think I should see a cardiologist. So they are going to set up an appointment with some cardiologist doctor guy and let me know when it will be. Hopefully it will be sometime this week, so I have less of a chance of my heart quitting on me. :)

So now I have to look up on the internet what the heck a cardiologist is going to do. I don't like going to doctor appointments and being surprised by needles or machines. Doug said they might make me run on a treadmill because his dad (who has heart problems) has to do that I guess. Now if they make me run on a treadmill I'm pretty sure I will die right in front of them in 2 seconds. Not because of my heart, but because I'm definitely not in good enough shape to be running.

Alright, so there you go. That's all I know right now.

Oh yeah, Isabella and I had a burrito from Qdoba's for lunch. Damn those are the best burritos you can get outside of San Diego, or probably Mexico for that matter. Anyways, Isabella loved it too, so that's a good sign she's half Mexican just like her mommy. :)

Later con queso biscuits!

Worst hypochondriac ever...

This is the last time I'm talking about my body dieing because I'm sick of thinking about it and talking about it. I get annoyed when others sit and complain 24 hours a day, so you can only imagine how annoyed I am with myself. That being said, I didn't go to my doctor's appointment on Friday. I set the alarm for 7. When it went off I looked outside and it was super dark out still. Now, in my sleeping-stuper I thought, "Oh, it must be like 2 in the morning still and not 7." I proceeded to shut the alarm off. Next thing I know Doug is home, waking me up, and wondering why I hadn't gone to the appointment. Needless to say it wasn't 2 when I shut off the alarm. So I have to call the clinic tomorrow to reschedule the appointment because I didn't have time Friday morning since we went to Devils Lake. So far I haven't had another heartattack or found any more cancer bumps, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. :) Oh, I really do appreciate everyone that was wondering about all this, so don't think I'm annoyed with people asking, but I am sick of hearing myself talk about.

Friday, like I said, we went up to Devils Lake. I had a really good time. Well, the typical experience with Isabella's cousins isn't always fun, but otherwise the weekend was relaxing. Friday we hung out with the O'Brien's :), Butto, and Amber. Then Saturday we stopped over at Doug's mom's house, and then the boys had band practice. Today we watched the Viking's kick Green Bay's ass (sucks to be Kevin), which really surprised everyone in the world probably. Since we got home I've just been unpacking, cooking, doing laundry, and homework. What excitement...

Isabella was supposed to have her doctor appointment tomorrow to have her ears checked, but Altru called sometime while we were gone saying we need to reschedule the appointment. Hopefully we can reschedule it soon because the longer we have to wait the more worried I get. Doug's brother-in-law told us that one of his girls had fluid in their ears and they took her to a chiropractor. I don't know what the chiropractor did, but the fluid drained out of her ears. I think if Isabella still has fluid I will ask her doctor about this, and think about doing that. I just really am still worried about them cutting her ears. Especially since Doug's brother-in-law and sister had them put in I guess and it damaged their hearing.

I am determined to take Isabella to a pumpkin patch before Halloween still. I just want to see how she'll act surrounded by pumpkins. Doug doesn't want to carve a pumpkin this year and I don't want to either, so we'll probably just buy one and leave it as it is. Next year we will have to carve one since Isabella will understand things more and will be able to get into the activity.

I'm getting soooo excited for Christmas. I know it's still 2 months away, but that's really not a long time people. I'm the kind of person that on December 26th I'm excited for next year's Christmas already. I love pretty much everything about the holiday. If Christmas was everyday of the year I would never complain about anything. Ok, that might be a slight lie, but you can't prove it...

Alright, that's about all I have to say. I hope you all had a great weekend! Night little grasshoppers!!!

Pretty sure my body is quitting on me...

Tomorrow is my doctor appointment to have my cancer checked out. Ok, so obviously I still don't know if the lumps are cancer, but if I keep telling myself it is then how surprised and upset can I really get if I'm right?

Now, not only do I have cancer, but I'm pretty sure I had a heartattack today. Wow, I just read that sentence and I burst out laughing. Anyways, I've had chest pain for a long time, but I never really thought anything of it. It usually only lasts for a couple seconds, and I don't have to sit down or take a break from whatever I'm doing at the time, so it's not interfering with my life. Today though, holy shit, pretty sure my heart quit on me. So I'm sitting there watching Oprah and entertaining Isabella. My chest all of a sudden feels real tight. My jaw starts to hurt, and I get a major pressure headache. I'm light headed and when I walk I feel like I'm floating. Then every few minutes I get this feeling like my heart just stopped. That's the only way I can explain it.

So I deal with it for about half an hour, then I decide to look on webmd.com to see what the symptoms for a heartattack are, and also look at the blogs.:) Well here's some symptoms: tightness in the chest, jaw pain, and light headedness. Hmmmm...sounds like a heart attack to me. Then I finally give in and call the hospital to see if I should be worried. For 10 minutes I sit on my phone waiting for someone to pick up, while a recorded message thing tells me they're sorry for the wait and they'll take my call in the order it was received. Pretty sure that if I really was having a heart attack I would've been dead by the time they picked up. I hang up and figure I'll just die on my couch. So, I didn't die. After awhile my chest started feeling better, but currently I'm still getting light headed every now and then.

I'm still trying to tell myself that it's all in my head and I'm making it up. I am going to tell the doctor tomorrow about it to see if I really do need to be concerned or not. Heart disease is the number one killer of women (thanks Oprah!). Basically I've decided that either I have become a full, blown hypochondriac, or I really did have a heartattack. Either way, none of you should feel bad for me, or even worry because for all I know I don't have cancer or heartattacks, but I actually suffer from delusions and paranoia. Just wish me luck that I make it through the night. :) (By the way, I don't really know if I'm spelling heartattack correctly and spell checker isn't working.)

My new favorite mugshot...

Oh, Tom Delay how you make me smile. One day if I'm ever booked for something and I get to have my mugshot taken, I want to be smiling as big as he is. Posted by Picasa

Mommy doubts...

After reading Janelle's blog last night (http://www.thewildwestshow.blogspot.com/), I was really frustrated. Not with Janelle, but the people who would make someone else feel like shit. I don't understand why people have this need to make others feel like a bad parent. I don't think there is any parent in the world that is raising their child in the "perfect" way. Everyone has their own opinions, and beliefs about what is right and what is wrong. I also don't think that any child will grow up free of problems. No matter how hard you try to give your child the perfect, stable, happy life they will probably turn 18 with at least some baggage.

I have no problem when people tell me things that they've tried with their kids, but if they start to criticize what I'm doing then I get pissed. Who are they to tell me what to do with my daughter? I can totally relate to how Janelle was feeling. I mean I have doubts every now and then about how Doug and I are raising Isabella. I wonder if I'm feeding her enough fruits and vegetables. If I'm taking her outside enough. If she's watching too much tv. If she's sleeping too much. I could go on forever. I think it's hard for any parent to feel like they are doing the right thing 100% of the time. I'm sure every parent has doubts every now and then. When I have major doubts then I call my mom, or a doctor, or research on the internet to see what others have done. What's funny is that when I do that, then often times it turns out that what I wanted to do is what most people do.

I think some parents criticize others just to make themselves feel better about what they are doing. Just like bullys in high school. I mean I feel that what Doug and I are doing with Isabella is the right thing, but I know lots of people out there would disagree with us and probably think we are terrible parents. I don't care if they disagree. Isabella is healthy (most of the time), and happy. So far, so good. :)

I also think that no matter how hard you try to give your child the perfect environment to grow up in, they probably still won't turn out the way you had hoped. Every kid is different, so sometimes what works for one kid probably won't work for another. Like how Isabella is a pretty social little baby. This suprises me because first, her dad has never been really social, and I've become less social over the years, and second, because she's not around many people besides her dad and myself. I think she was just born to be social. I definitely didn't do anything to make her that way. If anything I probably did the wrong things by not socializing her more, but it didn't hurt her obviously.

I think as long as you aren't physically or emotionally abusing them, and you give them lots of hugs, for the most part you probably aren't doing anything to hurt them. In reality you can only do so much to raise your kid. At some point they are able to decide wether they will listen or not.

My daughter is only a year old, so don't think that what I've said should be considered the law of the land. I don't have much experience raising kids, so I'm just letting you all know my opinions basically. I know I still have lots to learn and even then I will probably never know everything. I just hope you are feeling better today Janelle, and you realize that even if people criticize your mothering, I'm sure they know how much you love Cassidy. Maybe these people are just jealous that you have such a beautiful and smart little girl. :)
